baar baar dekh0-05September 09, 2016, saw the release of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Freaky Ali as well as Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer Baar Baar Dekho. While Freaky Ali opened to almost empty houses, Baar Baar Dekho seems to have crashed out on Sunday even before the weekdays have started.

Freaky Ali, which was a slow starter managed to collect Rs 07.14 crore nett (Rs 71.40 million) at the end of it’s first weekend. The film managed some decent growth on Saturday (September 10, 2016), but on Sunday (September 11, 2016), it could not do too much.

The all India business of Freaky Ali over the first weekend has been as follows:
Friday (September 09, 2016): Rs 01.74 crore nett (Rs 17.40 million)
Saturday (September 10, 2016): Rs 02.40 crore nett (Rs 24 million)
Sunday (September 11, 2016): Rs 03.00 crore nett (Rs 30 million)

However, the collections are better than other Nawazuddin Siddiqui films like Manjhi: The Mountain Man and the very recent Raman Raghav 2.0. With the debacle of Freaky Ali, its very clear that Nawazuddin Siddiqui cannot pull a commercial film on his shoulders.

Released in about 1000 screens, pan India and made at a budget of about Rs 19 crore (Rs 190 million), with Rs 15 crore (Rs 150 million) spent in production and about Rs 04 crore (Rs 40 million) spent on print and publicity, this one would eventually prove to be a safe bet for the makers in the long run.

On the other hand, the much hyped Baar Baar Dekho, hasn’t been able to create any impact whatsoever at the Box Office. The film has barely managed to collect about Rs 20.50 crore nett (Rs 205 million) at the end of it’s first weekend.

The business of Baar Baar Dekho over the first weekend has been as follows:
Friday (September 09, 2016): Rs 06.75 crore nett (Rs 67.50 million)
Saturday (September 10, 2016): Rs 07.00 crore nett (Rs 70 million)
Sunday (September 11, 2016): Rs 06.75 crore nett (Rs 67.50 million)

Released in about 2000 screens, pan India and made at a budget of about Rs 46 crore (Rs 460 million), with Rs 33 crore (Rs 330 million) spent in production and about Rs 13 crore (Rs 130 million) spent on print and publicity, looks like this one would be a losing game for the makers.

With Pink (Amitabh Bachchan) and Raaz Reboot (Emraan Hashmi) set for a release this coming Friday, September 16, 2016, both Baar Baar Dekho and Freaky Ali will have to collect as much monies as possible in this week itself, which as of now, looks like a tall order.
