pink-04Last Friday, September 16, saw the released of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Pink as well as Emraan Hashmi and Gaurav Arora starrer Raaz Reboot. While, Pink managed to create a huge impact at the Box Office, Raaz Reboot fell flat at the ticket window.

Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary, producer Shoojit Sircar and actors Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Piyush Mishra and Dhritiman Chatterjee have together given an all new identity to the colour pink and the film has managed to collect about Rs 32.90 (Rs 329 million) at the end of its first week, which is very encouraging.

Released in about 1200 screens, pan India and made at a budget of about Rs 26 crore (Rs 260 million), with Rs 19 crore (Rs 190 million) spent in production and about Rs 07 crore (Rs 70 million) spent on print and publicity, this one would prove to be a huge money spinner for the makers.

Coming to Raaz Reboot, well, this one has performed way below expectations. Unfortunately Raaz Reboot had a lower opening day than even Emraan Hashmi’s last release, Azhar. Riaz Reboot witnessed a drop in occupancy throughout the week and has barely managed to collect about Rs 22 crore (Rs 220 million) at the end of it’s first week, which is disappointing. This is Emraan Hashimi’s 09th consecutive failure in the span of 04 years.

Released in about 2350 screens, pan India and made at a budget of about Rs 30 crore (Rs 300 million), with Rs 22 crore (Rs 220 million) spent in production and about Rs 08 crore (Rs 80 million) spent on print and publicity, looks like this one would be a losing game for the makers.

Today, September 23, 2016 we have films like Banjo (Riteish Deshmukh and Nargis Fakhri), Wah Taj (Shreyas Talpade and Manjari Phadnis), Days Of Tafree (Yash Soni, Ansh Bagri and Sanjay Goswami) and a couple of Hollywood films set for release. None of the films are expected to garner a great opening. So it’s over to you Mr. Bachchan!
