Fawad Khan Not Being Replaced, Has A Cameo In Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Within days of asking the Pakistani film artists to leave the country, members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a protest outside Dharma Productions, whose Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has a special appearance by Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
The Mumbai Police has served a notice to Amey Khopkar, MNS Film Wing President under Section 149, after he and party general secretary Shalini Thackeray gave an ultimatum to Pakistani actors and artists to leave the country within 48 hours. Defending the protest, Shalini Thackeray stated that her party would not allow the release of Karan Johar’s film.
The MNS also submitted a letter to Karan Johar, in which it said Bollywood had not taken the issue of terror attacks seriously while allowing Pakistani actors to earn money in the film industry in the name of exchange of culture and art.
They also said they had dashed off letters to Pakistani actors, whose country is allegedly sponsoring terrorism, to stop their acting business here and quit the country.
Earlier, there was speculation that Karan Johar might tweak the scenes featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan or might replace him with Saif Ali Khan after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threatened to stop the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in Maharashtra in the aftermath of the Uri Attack.
However, our source from the production house has confirmed that this is not the case as Fawad is not being replaced. Fawad will be seen in a cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The film’s promotions have already began as it is scheduled to release on October 28, 2016, ahead of Diwali.
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has been venting it’s fire on Pakistani actors and artists in India and also the producers casting them in their projects, following the Uri Attack. It has also raised a flag against Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees in which Pakistani actor Mahira Khan is playing the female lead.
