Release Dates: Films Set For A February 2016 Release

Year 2016 has been a slow starter with most of the films that were slated to release in January 2016, being shifted to February 2016.

Films like Sunny Deol-Soha Ali Khan starrer Ghayal Once Again (February 05, 2016), Fitoor (February 12, 2016) starring Tabu, Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur and Neerja Bhanot biopic Neerja, staring Sonam Kapoor and Shabana Azmi (February 19, 2016), are just one of the many films that are ready to light up this romantic month.

List of films that are set for a February 2016 release:

February 05, 2016:
Ghayal Once Again written and directed by Sunny Deol, this one has been in the making for a while now.

Sequel to the 1990 super hit Ghayal, Ghazyal Once Again stars Sunny Deol, Om Puri, Soha Ali Khan, Tisca Chopra, Shivam Patil, Aanchal Munjal and Diana Khan.

Sanam Teri Kasam – the film marks the debut of Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane.

Eros International ties up with Jhoom Jhoom Productions and Soham Rockstar Entertainment for this film that’s being diverted by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.

The Finest Hours – a historical disaster drama film about the 1952 United States Coast Guard rescue of the tanker SS Pendleton, after it split apart off the New England coast.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film is based on the book, The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard’s Most Daring Sea Rescue by Michael J. Tougias and Casey Sherman.

The film stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, and Eric Bana.films-06February 12, 2016:
Fitoor – directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, the films is based on Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations.

It stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Rahul Bhat, Akshay Oberoi, Delbar Arya, Lara Dutta, Tunisha Sharma, Suchitra Pillai, Govind Namdev and Ajay Devgan.

Sonam Re – directed by Divya Khosla Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film stars Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam, Urvashi Rautela and Rishi Kapoor.

Sanam Re has been shot in multiple locations like Mumbai, Shimla, Kalpa and Ladakh. The music if the film has been composed by Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly, Amaal Mallik, and Epic Bhangra.

Deadpool – a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the eighth installment in the X-Men film series.

The film is directed by Tim Miller, with a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand and Leslie Uggams.

February 19, 2016:
Ishq Forever – the film marks the debut of Krishna Chaturvedi and Ruhi Singh, and also stars Lisa Ray, Javed Jaffrey, Chetan Pandit, Sonal Jha, Arif Zakaria, Mahesh Balraj and Zakir Hussain.

Ishq Forever also marks the comeback for music composer, Nadeem Saifi, after almost a decade.

The film is being directed by Sameer Sippy and has been produced by Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Harry Gandhi.

Direct Ishq – is an action packed romantic comedy, set in the holy city of Banaras. The film is a love triangle between Vicky, a rough and aggressive local boy from Banaras, Kabeer a rich, Mumbai based event organiser born in Banaras and Dolly.

The film stars Rajneesh Duggal, Nidhi Subbaiah, Arjun Bijlani, Hemant Pandey, Rajesh Shingarpure, Rajkumar Kannojia and Padam Singh.

Neerja – the film revolves around the factual hijacking of Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi, Pakistan specifically focusing on flight attendant Neerja Bhanot.

It is based on the life of Neerja Bhanot who was shot dead by terrorists who hijacked the Mumbai-New York flight at Karachi on September 05, 1986.

Directed by Ram Madhvani and produced by Atul Kasbekar under the banner of Fox Star Studios, the film stars Sonam Kapoor in titular role and Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani in supporting roles.

Loveshhudh – is a love story that starts in bed. This unconventional romance takes us through the lead actor’s journey of bachelorhood and how he faces a conflict between practicality and true love.

Starring Girish Kumar and Navneet Kaur Dhillon the film is being directed by Vaibhav Misra and has been produced by Vijay Galani and Pratik Galani.

February 26, 2016:
Love Shagun – a romantic comedy starring actors Anuj Sachdeva, Nidhi Subbaiah, Vikram Kochhar, Manit Joura, Taran Bajaj, Shamin Mannan and Simpy Singh.

Shot in various locations like Goa, Mumbai and Bhopal, the film is all about friendship, romance and marriage.

Tere Bin Laden: Dead Or Alive – Tere Bin Laden starring Ali Zafar, revolved around a fake Osama Bin Laden video. Tere Bin Laden – Dead Or Alive stars Piyush Mishra, Sikandar Kher and Manish Paul, while Ali Zafar will play a cameo.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, we were looking forward to the this sequel that’s set to release on February 19, 2016.

Aligarh – based on the real life incident of Doctor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was suspended from his job because of his sexual orientation. Doctor Shrinivas was the professor of Marathi at the Aligarh Muslim University.

After successfully appealing his suspension, he died in suspicious circumstances. Manoj Bajpayee plays the role of Doctor Shrinivas, while Rajkummar Rao plays a journalist.

Shooting was held in Bareilly, Agra Uttar Pradesh. The film is slated to be released on 26 February 2016.
