Sammeer Sumantt: For Him Failure Is No Option
They say actors are born and good actors are trained; well, according to me, Sammeer Sumantt is one good actor who you cannot just ignore. He has time and again proved that you cannot keep talent under wraps for long.
His journey began in the year 2012 with Bokad, a film directed by Pravin Raja Karale, where he essayed the role of Sammeer. For Sammeer, it was always the strength of the role rather than the length of the role that mattered. All he knew was to act and that’s what he did.
Post Bokad, Sammeer went behind the camera and directed a shot film titled 2:30 am. The film won a lot of accolades and was awarded the Best Director and Best Shot Film Award by the National Academy Cinema And Television, Karnataka.
In the year 2013, 2.30 am entered the International Cultural Exchange Festival in Pune and as expected, the film garnered a lot of appreciation. Most of the actors in his place would have taken this as a huge high, but Sammeer took this one in his stride and moved on.
Currently Sameer is looking forward to his next release, Duniya Geli Tel Laavat, which is once again being directed Pravin Raja Karale. In the film, he is essaying the role of Anthony and is sharing screen space with Siddharth Jadhav. The film, which is set for a June 10, 2016 release, will show case Sammeer in an intense role.
Apart from being an actor and a director, Sammer loves to play the guitar and has even composed a couple of songs, which he intends using in a movie iun the near furure.
It’s always a pleasure to see him on screen and what really amazes me is the fact that he is one of the most underrated actors, who deserves much more than what he has got.
Acting deals with very delicate emotions. It is not about putting up a mask. Each time an actor acts he does not hide; he exposes himself. That’s how I would like to sum Sammeer Sumantt.
Here’s wishing him all the best and we do hope that he continues to entertain us and keep doing such good work!!
