Teaser Trailer Review: Kabali – It’s All About The Power Of Rajinikanth
The teaser trailer of Rajnikanth starrer Kabali has just hit the net and one must say that this one has loads of power. If the teaser is anything to go by, Kabali seems like the sort of crowd pleasing charmer.
Kabali, it appears, isn’t a tight lipped don, who is content to relegate himself into the background, and makes things happen with simple gestures like a frown, a shake of his head, or a phone call.
Rajinikanth’s strong presence, his mannerisms and one-liners are the highlights of the teaser and needless to say, it will have his fans going crazy, who have been waiting for something like this for a while now.
However, the biggest takeaway from the teaser, no doubt, is Santosh Narayanan’s music. It’s refreshing and one is eagerly waiting to see how his brand of folk meets international music would go with the star status of Rajinikanth.
What’s really pleasing is the fact that Rajnikanth seems at home playing his age, and after Padayappa, which released 17 years ago, this is the first time he’s doing so. Two films old Pa. Ranjith has written and directed this film, which is produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu.
Apparently, Kabali is loosely based on the life of a gangster based in Mylapore in Chennai. Radhika Apte is essaying the role of Rajinikanth’s wife, while Dhansika their daughter. Rajinikanth plays an ageing don, who reportedly runs a school for the children affected by gang wars. Kishore, Nassar, Dinesh Ravi, John Vijay and others are in the supporting cast.
The producers reportedly plan to release the film simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu on July 06, 2016 during the Eid festival, which would clash with Salman Khan starrer Sultan. Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, which was also set to release on the same day has been moved to Republic Day 2017.
